Founder of For the Cubs

Our Story

From chronic stress, insomnia, anxiety and ADHD to calm, regulated and navigating life with peace and patience.

"After 20 years of restless nights, I found the solution in the one place I wasn’t looking."

Before I founded For the Cubs, I completed my training as a licensed, trauma-informed foster parent. It was there that I learned a vital truth: you cannot simply "tell" a stressed brain to stop worrying. Our biology dictates that we must signal safety through the senses: sound, weight, temperature, and touch.

After decades of my own struggles with sleep and anxiety, I realized something that should have been obvious: A stressed nervous system is a stressed nervous system, regardless of age. The same "high alert" that keeps a child awake was keeping me awake, too.

I began using the sensory tools designed for children, simply because those were the only tools available. For the first time in years, the mental load felt manageable. I wasn't just resting; I was recovering. But I quickly realized that a child’s sensory tool couldn't quite meet the needs of my adult-sized stress.

Soon after launching For the Cubs as a brand for kids, I noticed a pattern. Adults were buying our products for themselves—not as toys, but as a way to finally switch off.

Today, our collection is built specifically for adults, providing the sensory "permission" your body needs to finally fall asleep.

Because while we’ve grown up, our need to feel safe hasn’t.
